FAQs

  • Please see our privacy policy page.

  • Please see our Covid-19 page.

  • We are an off-grid campsite, so there is no electricity on site.

  • We’re all about letting go and immersing yourselves in nature. So, no WiFi available on site, it’s all the encouragement you need to digitally detox!

  • Yes, we have mains drinking water available. You will need to bring your own containers to carry/store.

  • In our communal washing up and shower facilities, we have biodegradable washing up liquid and shower gel, plus toilet roll, handwash and hand sanitiser in all composting loos. Please do use the washing up liquid and shower gels provided – all of our wastewater goes to a soakaway in the woods and we want to keep down the use of detergents.

  • Campfires are all part of the true camping experience and every pitch has a firepit. We sell seasoned firewood on site – it is certified and grown in our woodlands. Due to the risk of imported disease and the health of our trees, please do not bring in firewood from elsewhere. Fallen timber provides valuable habitat for wildlife and is not to be foraged. For the same reason, do not remove deadwood from trees; you may be stealing an animal’s home (and you may be asked to leave if you are caught!). Please note that during exceptionally dry or windy weather we may have to impose a campsite-wide fire ban for your safety and that of other campers.

  • We welcome dogs in our regular camping pitches, but we need you to keep them and their poo under control. If you come in with a dog, we can give you some biodegradable poo bags and ask that you clear up after them wherever possible by using the red dog waste bins around the site. They should be on a lead when not in the immediate vicinity of your
pitch. Friendly breeds only please, and they must pass the tummy tickle test!

Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs in our pre-erected Bell Tents.

  • You are free to smoke within your allocated pitch area, although we do not allow smoking inside our pre-erected bell tents. We ask that you remain mindful of the woodland surroundings and the associated fire hazard at all times and please make sure all cigarettes are extinguished and disposed of properly.

  • Some of our pitches can accommodate up to three families together. However, these pitches are limited so please contact us direct before booking.

  • All of our pitches are within the woods and some of them can only fit tents up to a certain size. Please email before booking if you have a large or a 6/8-man tent to check that we can allocate you an appropriate pitch – we may not be able to if the larger pitches are already gone.

  • Unfortunately, due to space, we are unable to accept caravans, only small VW-style campervans. We have specific pitches for campervans, so please make sure you book one of those.

  • You can arrive from 2pm onwards on your arrival day.

  • We ask that you arrive on site at the following times:

    Monday to Thursday before 6pm
    Friday up to 7pm
    Saturday before 6pm
    Sunday by 5pm

  • We ask that you pack up and vacate your pitch by 11am on your day of departure.

  • Monday to Thursday 9am - 6pm
    Friday & Saturday 9am - 7pm
    Sunday 9.30 - 5pm.

  • Our Reception/Shop area is closed for lunch between 1pm - 2pm every day.

  • Yes, we are able to take card or cash payments for on-site purchases.

  • We have a small number of essentials for sale on site such as kindling, matches, firelighters and torches, tea, coffee, crisps...and sweets! As well as firewood and Swedish candles.

  • We sell grills at Reception or online with your booking, but unfortunately, we do not have any available to hire.

  • We have plenty of wheelbarrows available at Reception, please remember to return them back to Reception once you have moved your items so other people can use them.

  • We do not allow amplified music, although you are very welcome to bring acoustic instruments or join in with some campfire songs...! (Our wardens will do walk-arounds from 10pm onwards to check that all is quiet. If we have reports of your late-night behaviour disturbing neighbouring campers, you will be asked to leave the next morning without a refund for any remaining nights.)

  • Yes, we have waste and recycling facilities around the site (see map), so you can bring back everything you take into the woods, to keep the woods for the wildlife. Please help us and be sure to use the right bins for the right waste, thank you!

  • During our busy times we are unable to accept day visitors, as we have limited parking available. At other times, please check with Reception for availability.

  • You’ll be immersed in the woods, so of course you’ll be sharing the habitat with many wild animals...badgers, bats, foxes, deer, rats, mice and many different species of birds. We also have a few free-range chickens that live with us on site, please ask at Reception for some corn to feed them with.

  • Yes, you can...we have an open area which is particularly good for kite-flying! – ask at reception for directions.

  • Yes, you can, however you will need to be in the vicinity of the Reception area for the duration of your booked timeslot to take delivery of your order. Unfortunately, we cannot receive shopping on your behalf and please bear in mind that your phone signal in the woods may not be at its best!
