As with everything about Badgells Wood, our bell tents are more about simplicity than luxury. Aimed at easing you into the woodland experience. Ideal if you are dipping your toe into woodland camping for the first time or just want to escape to the woods with the minimum of fuss.
Each five-metre tent is contained within its own pitch, set on level decking and with an awning outside for the wetter weather (or to keep your wellies under!), along with its own fire pit and picnic table. Inside, you’ll find a comfy double bed and a double futon for the adults or fold-out single chair beds for the kids (depending on which you have booked) to comfortably accommodate either 4 adults or a family of 5 (plus toddler in its own cot). Each bed has a base sheet provided and a floor mat covers the entire space of the tent.
We charge a fixed rate of £125 per night, for a minimum stay of two nights (three nights on Bank Holiday weekends) so there is no charge per person.

Please note that we do not allow smoking or dogs inside the bell tents. Nor should any cooking take place inside the tent.
We run off-grid so it’s back to nature in our communal areas. We have lovely hot showers and washing-up sinks, together with composting loos (loo paper & hand-sanitiser provided). It’s basic and rustic but with everything you need! We also supply bio-degradable shower gel and washing-up liquid to be kind to our soak-away.
We have mains drinking water (located at our central washing up area) and each tent is provided with a 10-litre water container.
We have rubbish bins and also glass and general recycling bins on site (see map for details). We ask that you separate your recycling from general waste and use the bins accordingly.
