UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE NOT ABLE TO OFFER BUSHCRAFT FOR 2020 DUE TO COVID19 RESTRICTIONS.
Here at Badgells Wood, we strive to provide a comprehensive, enjoyable and accurate introduction to the many facets of bushcraft. The skills we teach range from primitive man, all the way through to modern day. We provide eight Wild Things Saturday bushcraft sessions currently, with more on the way, so there is bound to be something for you to sink your teeth into. All of our sessions will teach you how to survive in all environments and, if you never have to use them in a serious situation, you will at least be able to show off to your friends on your next camping trip…!
Most of our sessions have two levels, the first being Beginner/Intermediate, running every Saturday (details below) – designed to be more of a practical and relaxed introductory session, with the opportunity for our instructor to give you more advanced skills if you pick things up quickly, or just want to test yourself a little more.
We then offer a more Advanced level course, over a half or whole day – these sessions are more information based and will build on what you already know to give you hints, tips and survival tricks to fine tune your skills. They are geared more towards the bushcraft enthusiast, requiring pre-existing knowledge and need to be booked direct with Karina. All of our skills and equipment have been tried and tested in the field.
Our bushcraft gets booked up quickly….so we suggest you book your courses at the same time as booking your pitch with us, to avoid disappointment….but if you have already booked your camping with us, you can still book Saturday Beginner/Intermediate Bushcraft sessions by clicking here….
Children must be aged 5 and over to take part (4 and over for Soft Archery); if aged less than 7 they will need to come with a paying adult so that everyone can make the most of the session. All children attending Archery sessions, regardless of age, must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

You will explore different fuels to keep your fire going, different ways to start your fire, from matches, lighters, ferrocerium rods, flint and steel, plus a few secret techniques you won’t have seen before! You will also learn the proper way to extinguish your fire and clear it up, leaving no trace.
