Bookings

COVID 19 INFORMATION– We have decided to keep the site closed during April and May. If you have already booked then we will be in touch with you individually to ask if you want to move your booking or be refunded. If you are booked later in the season, we are happy to move it to another date within the next 18months. If we have to keep the site closed due to Government restrictions, we will continue to offer full refunds for everyone affected. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates here and on social media. Stay safe everyone.

Seasonal opening times – During 2020, we are hoping to open from the start of June, running until Sunday 1st November, for Halloween; subject to required closing as set out above. (Please note that during October there are local shoots running on neighbouring land and you may hear some shooting on Wednesday or Saturday.)

Prices – Adults £18.50; Children (aged 3-15) £9.00; Infants under 3 are free, but please mention when booking

Online booking – Please use our online booking system to check availability and make bookings, but feel free to email or call Karina if you have any questions or need to make a group booking. General enquiries will be answered between 9am and 5pm or email in the first instance.

Karina – enquiries@badgellswoodcamping.co.uk or 07528 609324

Tent Sizes – All of our pitches are within the woods and some of them can only fit tents up to a certain size. Please contact Karina before booking if you have a large or a 6/8-man tent to check that we can allocate you an appropriate pitch – we may not be able to if the larger pitches are already gone.

Pitch allocation – Please note that pitches are generally allocated on a first come, first served basis, when booking online. If you are a group booking, please contact us directly to discuss first so that we can check availability of large pitches, otherwise you may not be able to pitch your tents together.

Arriving – We are happy for you to arrive any time after midday – in fact the earlier in the afternoon the better, particularly on Fridays, when it can get very busy later in the day – and please ensure that you arrive before 8pm.

Departing – On your day of departure we ask that you pack-up and vacate your pitch by 11am.  You are welcome to stay on and enjoy the woods after you have packed up by arrangement with Karina.  For large pitches and groups, please agree your departure time with Karina.

Family and large bookings – We are set up for nature lovers and their families who want to get out amongst it.   Sadly we cannot accept bookings from groups where the average age is under 21 (except school bookings) to ensure the quiet enjoyment of the woods for everyone else..! Drunk and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated and we reserve the right to ask you to leave should this occur…please book elsewhere if this is your intention.

Our policy is to charge by the person per night to keep it simple. We will do our best to accommodate big groups and your various configurations; Gazebo’s, VW Camper Vans and specific areas, etc. But at the end of the day we just charge by the person. So, if you are aged 3 or over, a charge will be incurred.

Amplified music & night-time noise – We do not allow amplified music, although you are very welcome to bring acoustic instruments or join in with some campfire songs..!  Our wardens will do walk-arounds from 10pm onwards to check that all is quiet.  If we have reports of your late-night behaviour disturbing neighbouring campers, you will be asked to leave the next morning without a refund for any remaining nights.

Fires – Campfires are all part of the true camping experience and every pitch has a firepit. We sell seasoned firewood on site – it is certified and grown in our woodlands.

During exceptionally dry or windy weather we may have to impose a campsite-wide fire ban for your safety and that of other campers.  During a fire ban we cannot allow campfires, coal, charcoal, disposable bbq’s or any other solid fuel fired cookers. If you are found with any of these alight during a ban you will be asked to leave with no refund. You can of course bring gas bbq/camping stoves.  During a fire ban, we will refund all pre-paid log purchases & grill hires on arrival. All other booking terms are as normal. Any fire restrictions will be posted on our homepage and you will be notified either on or before arrival.

Campervans – We only have space for 3 campervans, and these can only be small VW type vans. Please make sure you contact us to reserve a space.

Bushcraft Bookings – Please note that there is a minimum number of people required per session. If a session is under-booked, we reserve the right to change the timing or, if necessary, cancel your session, in which case we will, of course, refund it.

Cancellations & Refunds – We have to ask for full payment on bookings due to the online booking system.  Bookings are 90% refundable for individual/family bookings cancelled at least 14 days before your arrival date and group booking at least 28 days before arrival.  Or, if you give us sufficient notice, we can try to transfer your booking to later in the season if we still have space.

Bank Holiday bookings – Due to demand, we have a minimum 2-night stay for weekends (Friday & Saturday) and a minimum 3-night stay for Bank Holidays (Fri/Sat/Sun). However please do call nearer the time for last minute spaces and cancellations as we might be able to accommodate single night stays.

On-site shop – You can bring cash for essentials or we do also have a card reader on site.

…and, lastly, there is a real chance of mud! – We are a woodland campsite and, as a result, it can get muddy!  If the British weather has been throwing its best shot at us, please remember to bring your wellies!

Please note that if your group is foraging for deadwood, not being responsible with your fire or unreasonably disturbing other campers or our neighbours, you will be asked to leave without any refund whatsoever.
