Bushcraft

Want to know how to make sure you can get your fire going in any weather? What about if you’ve left your matches behind…..or find yourself stranded in the middle of nowhere…..we can give you a few pointers on lighting fires, building shelters and a whole lot more – maybe one day you’ll be able to give Bear Grylls a run for his money…!

We have our own team of trained bushcraft, survival and archery specialists and we are members of the Institute of Outdoor Learning. We get booked up quickly & suggest booking when you book your pitch.


Bushcraft Introduction (every Saturday, plus Sundays on Bank Holiday Weekends only)

Children must be aged 5 and over to take part; if aged less than 7 they will need to come with a paying adult so that everyone can make the most of the session. All children attending Archery sessions, regardless of age, must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

09:00 – 10:00 – Bushcraft Basics (£12.50)  A great introduction to Bushcraft and forest skills focussing on essential skills like fire lighting and shelter building and a chance to cook some marshmallows.
10:15 – 11:30 – Archery (£15.00)  Introduction to Archery suitable from 7 years upwards. Have a go in our purpose built range and see if you can become the next Hawkeye or Katniss Everdeen!
10:30 – 11:30 – Soft Archery (£12.50)  Ideal for young children aged from 4 years upwards or for the whole family to do as a group activity (subject to availability).
11:45 – 12:45 – Woodland Crafts/para-cord bracelet making (£12.50)  Learn how to make a variety of woodland inspired trinkets and gadgets, from whistles to jewellery to clay animals.
13:30 – 14:30 – Woodland Challenge (£12.50)  Puzzle solving team-building activities with family and friends…a great way to make new friends and challenge yourself.
14:45 – 16:00 – Archery (£15.00)  An afternoon session for anyone who may have missed the morning session and wants a go or a progressive session for those that want another turn.
15:00 – 16:00 – Soft Archery (£12.50)   An afternoon session for anyone who may have missed the morning session (subject to availability).
16:15 – 17:15 – Bushcraft Basics (£12.50)  A second introductory session to Bushcraft and forest skills focussing on essential skills like fire lighting and shelter building and a chance to cook some marshmallows (subject to availability).
16:15 – 17:15 – Adults Bushcraft (£15.00) 
A session aimed at adults and over 14’s looking at fire lighting to a more advanced level (subject to availability).

All sessions need to be pre-booked online or with Karina.

Please note that there is a minimum number of people required per session. If a session is under-booked, we reserve the right to change the timing or, if necessary, cancel your session, in which case we will refund it.


Advanced Bushcraft, Survival skills and Private Group Bookings (by arrangement)

If you want to take things a bit further….learning skills such as:

  • Knife skills & carving
  • Game preparation
  • Advanced Fire-lighting
  • Survival skills

Half-day courses will run from 10:00am to 12:30pm and then 13:30pm to 16:00pm and cost £45 per person, with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 participants per session. Sessions will be available on Saturdays or Sundays, subject to Instructor availability.
